Knowledge Quest Announces It’s 20th Annual Scholarship Recipients.
Knowledge Quest provides scholarships to Bermudians who are academically capable but do not have sufficient resources to attend college/university. Even with the challenges of the current economic environment, Knowledge Quest has been able to assist a total of 48 students with their university education this academic year through generous donations from individuals and businesses in our community.
Below is the fall 2021 class of 16 new students awarded a Knowledge Quest scholarship.
Covid-19 has continued to affect most new candidates’ and returning students’ ability to obtain summer jobs and complete internships. The pandemic also affected many parents’ jobs with reduced hours or layoffs.
Previous Knowledge Quest graduates Iva Taylor (2002) and Christine Taylor (2003) commented: “Being accepted into Cornell University was a celebratory occasion, but also a huge financial burden for our family. Knowledge Quest’s assistance was critical in order for us both to attend University. KQ also provided us guidance on topics ranging from university course selection to resume and interview tips, which has been instrumental in developing us in our careers. Today we are a Political Risk and Credit Underwriter at AXA/XL and a Senior Manager in Patient Care at Gilead Sciences and are very grateful to KQ for their support and mentorship.”
Directors Gigi Barit, Kathy Lines, Ricky Lines, Fiona Luck and Cynthia Cox would like to thank the generous KQ donors for investing in a positive future for Bermuda. They also would like to wish the Knowledge Quest students much success during this academic year and beyond.
Knowledge Quest Ltd is a Bermudian registered charity that since 2002 has empowered over 250 Bermudians with the opportunity to earn college/university degrees. The deadline for applying for a fall 2022 scholarship is May 15th, 2022 and students may apply through www.bermudascholarships.com.
